PUPILS at Coalway Junior School put their own marks on a piece of art created with renowned local artist Doug Eaton.
Each of the 240 pupils contributed to the artwork on the theme of earth, air, fire and water.
During the school's annual art week – which finished with an exhibition for friends and parents – the children were also inspired by ceramic artist Mary Rose Young.
At the start of the week Mr Eaton showed his work to the children and answered their questions.
Throughout the day each class was able to add to the large canvas that he had prepared.
It was also an opportunity for them to use paint used by professional artists.
Mr Eaton said: "I brought my paint in and the children immediately saw the difference in the colour between the paint I use and the paint they use."
He and Mary Rose Young attended the exhibition where they joined parents to see the works based on the earth, air, fire and water and inspired by Mary Rose's colour ceramics.
She said: "It's great to see all this work, it's really inspiring."
