COLEFORD Town Council says it's doing everything in its power to make sure the town has Christmas lights this year.

Only two weeks ago the volunteer committee announced it didn't have enough people to put up the lights – leaving many people questioning if they would be the only Forest town left in the dark.

However town clerk, Annie Lappington has insisted it will be business as usual and the council has organised lights, a tree and procession.

She said: "The volunteer committee told us two weeks ago they weren't able to do it as they didn't have enough volunteers.

"Obviously it's too late to appeal for volunteers so we are doing our best, as a council, to make sure Coleford still has a tree and lights."
