DESPITE chilly temperatures and that persistent rain we have had of late, quite a few people turned out to Coleford on Sunday for the French Market.
A wide selection of foods and drink were available, from the predictable French bread through to exotic sweets in the form of Baklava.
Unusually, one stall had brought a wide choice of waterproof table cloths – complete with a hole in the centre to fit your barbeque dining table, ideal for our English summer weather!
The cheese stall was especially well stocked – and there were bargains to be had too, if you knew how to convert your kilos to pounds. Also this year the traditional French sausages made from exotic meats made an appearance – though it wasn't clear if everyone could work out quite what they were!
The Review has to ask this...if things were reversed, we wonder what an English Market in a French provincial town would look like – and what it would stock?
