IT was amazing to see over 120 people packed into Pillowell Village Hall last Thursday to vote on a proposal to agree to sell the existing village hall in order to part fund the building of a new one.

Without getting into the rights or wrongs of this proposal, which was overwhelmingly voted against, the energy and strength of feeling on both sides just goes to show that the community really does care about what happens to its village hall and how space in Pillowell is used.

I do hope that the Pillowell Village Hall Committee can now capture this energy and enthusiasm to help them find a way forward, and that all those who turned up to the meeting will offer help and support where they can, regardless of how they voted. There is a strong sense of community in Pillowell and we need to make sure it thrives.
