I WATCHED a science programme on television the other night which tried to ascertain why many people refuse to believe in the findings of science such as climate change and the damage done to nature by the growing of genetically modified crops.

The programme neglected to report on the firms destroying the planet for profit – firms such as Monsanto selling non-renewable seeds so that they can keep on selling more seed, or Esso polluting the seas and rain forests (the lungs of the world) being cut down for palm oil and indigenous people being thrown of their land.

The powerful people who control the resources of the world have the power, by bribery or threats, to curtain the news we receive. The journalist, John Pilger, keeps telling us that we are not being told the full truth.

I think powerful firms influenced the makers of this science programme not to mention their polluting activity.

This may seem far-fetched, but some firms have been known to pay pseudo scientists to denigrate the findings of real scientists in order to hide the pollution they cause by their only for profit activity.
