THE District Council is asking residents to suggest ways in which they can save £1.2 million in the next four years.
The council is currently updating its plans for its services for the future and its spending plans for 2014/15.
Residents and local businesses can complete a survey by January 28 which will then be considered by Cabinet on February 13 and Full Council on February 27.
Cllr Patrick Molyneux, Leader of the District Council said: "The District Council recognises that there are tough times ahead financially and for that reason it is important to seek the views of local residents on how they value our services and the importance they attach to them. This information will help us shape our budget for the next four years.
"We urge people to complete the survey and let us know their views before the consultation closes on the January 28, 2014."
The proposed four-year strategy takes into account financial risks and other changes which will have an impact on future services. Full details are contained within the Cabinet meeting report of December 12, available on the District Council website www. fdean.gov.uk.
The survey can completed by visiting http://www.fdean.gov.uk/go/budgetconsultation">www.fdean.gov.uk/go/budgetconsultation or by requesting a paper copy from the customer services team on 01594 810000.
