THE gardens of Dingestow Court, near Monmouth, will open to the public for the Gwent Wildlife Trust Open Day on Wednesday August 18 from 11am-4pm.

Nurtured by Helen Bosanquet and filled with flowers, fruit trees, birds, butterflies and bumblebees, the gardens are only open for one special day each year. Dingestow Court is the estate of the Bosanquet family and home and headquarters of Gwent Wildlife Trust. It extends over a thousand acres with an imposing grade two listed manor house.

The court's centrepiece is six acres of serene historic gardens, laid out in the mid 19th century by the famous Victorian horticulturalist and landscape designer Edward Milner.
