MY son was digging in the rear garden at my address and found a metal badge. It was impressed with a cricket bat, a set of stumps and an anchor. The rim of the badge is outlined by a rope pattern.

The presence of the anchor coupled with the close proximity of the Severn would suggest an association between both. This in turn suggests that the badge represents a Severnside cricketing club.

The metal is thin and is possibly a badge which was originally attached to a bag used for carrying the bats and stumps.

Do any of your readers have knowledge of a cricket club which makes use of this emblem?

By a strange coincidence the very next day he found another badge a quarter of a mile away in my orchard. This was also impressed with cricketing memorabilia in the form of a cricket ball, stumps and two bats. The bats form a cross behind the ball. It is made of even thinner metal than the first one.

The attached images show both badges. Both have been enlarged for the purpose of maximum clarity of detail.
