MAY I say 'Thank You' to all the people who signed my petition for a zebra/pelican crossing in High Street, Lydney. The total number of signatures was 952.

They were presented to the last meeting of

Lydney Town Council planning and highways committee, and will be on the agenda for discussion at the next meeting in the Town Council offices.

I also informed our MP, Mark Harper, of the situation and his office e-mailed the following to me.

"Thank you for your email of October 9th, addressed to Mark Harper MP, regarding your concerns about a pedestrian crossing on Hill Street, Lydney.

"As a result of your email, I have contacted Brian Watkins, stakeholder manager at Gloucestershire Highways. Mark will, of course, write to you once he receives a reply."

Hopefully we will soon get a safe crossing at this dangerous location.
