A TEAM of cyclists who rode the length of Wales raised £10,000 for a Forest school.
The 220-mile ride in memory of Mrs Jayne Cummings, who died last year of cancer, raised money for the communication and interaction centre at Ruardean Church of England Primary School.
Friend of the family Andy Backhouse organised the ride with seven friends and they donated the money to the centre because of the support it has given to Mrs Cummings's son William.
They cycled from Anglesey to Aberthaw near Cardiff, the most southerly point in Wales.
Teacher-in-change of the centre, Jayne Whittington, said: "We are so touched by the effort that Andy and the team put into raising this money. It's incredible – it was much more than we expected."
Staff will discuss exactly how the money will be used after discussions with Mrs Cummings's husband Bill.
Mr Backhouse said: "The weather was horrendous but we enjoyed the experience and we exceeded our target very quickly."
