A CHARITY that enables those with disabilities to enjoy the freedom of cycling was – appropriately – the beneficiary of money raised by the Royal Forest of Dean Cycling Club.

Charlotte’s Tandem, in Coalway, received £162 towards their work that lends, free of charge, tandems and trailer bikes to people with disabilities or additional needs, who are unable to ride a bike safely on their own, so that they can enjoy cycling.

Paul Jones of the club said: “Many thanks to everyone who so generously supplied raffle prizes.”

The prize-giving coincided with the club’s annual dinner, which was held at The Orepool in Sling.

Guest speaker Graeme Freestone King, the head technician for bike manufacturers Campagnolo in the UK, gave the inside story on his trips all over the world and dealings with the professional cycling scene.
