I'VE read stories about the boar, horses and sheep being a nuisance in and around the Forest. But what about dogs?
After enjoying a lovely afternoon walk and lunch in a local pub, my husband and I were walking home through the woods, when all of a sudden we heard a growling noise and a big black dog came running at us. I had such a fright I screamed.
We were both in shock as we thought the dog was going to bite us, luckily he did not. We heard his owner calling him from the forest, but he did not even come out to the footpath to see if we were ok.
Dogs should be made to wear muzzles then no-one would have to worry about being bitten. There are a lot more people being maimed or even killed by dogs than any other animal in the Forest.
