A NEW singing competition debuts next month giving the lucky winner the chance to sing in a studio.

Totally Talented is open to qualifying teenagers with four heats starting on October 25 at 10am to 5pm at Lydney Community Centre.

The semi-final will be on November 15 with the grand final taking place at Lydney Town Hall on December 14.

Applicants will audition in front of a judging panel featuring three people from the local music industry.

AuraPhonic, who are sponsoring the event, are providing the winner with a four-hour studio recording time at their music studio in Bream as well as a live HD video recording plus £100 cash prize.

Committee member of Lydney Festival, Derek Biddle said: "This is a new adventure which has been funded with money leftover for an event we had to cancel on August Bank Holiday."
