MOST people are looking forward to summer but my wife and I are dreading it.

We are surrounded by dogs and most of their owners do not care how much they bark.

Sometimes it is horrendous, some of these dogs bark at anything and everything.

They bark when someone walks by, if a leaf falls off a tree or a bird lands on a fence.

They bark if I go to my car, open my back or front door or step into my garden.

I realise I live in the country but come on! If an owner has a dog that continually barks surely they can do something about it?

They cannot be much of an owner if they cannot control their dog. Surely dog owners cannot be oblivious to this?

They must know which of these dogs are theirs and they should have some consideration and I believe some of them don't give a damn.

No doubt this letter will anger, upset and offend dog owners but surely people are entitled not to be dog owners or dog lovers?

People are entitled to be inside their property without having to suffer this barrage of barking.

After conversation with some of my neighbours, this constant barking has the same effect on them but they feel too intimidated to air their views and do not want to upset these dog owners.

My opinion is that if a dog continually refuses to stop barking, drastic action should be taken to give non dog owners some peace.
