I shiver in the coldness of the house

It makes me feel sleepy and I do not want to rouse

I can't afford the heating bills

To keep away the winter chills.

Now I'm alone my income has reduced in size

And my heart it heavy lies

The winter fuel allowance is to be reduced

And I'm sorry that the Government will not be induced

To change their decision to help our means for warmth

And peace of mind.

Do they not understand the meaning of the word kind?

To eat or heat is the choice facing many

So it is out with the Bovril, put another jumper on to save a penny.
