YOUNG singer Ellie Higgs from Lydney has been got through to the regional finals of Open Mic UK 2011 following in the path of Forest band Pandemick.

Mum, Gill Higgs, says it is a 'fantastic opportunity' for the Whitecross student to show off her talents and voice.

You can see Ellie in action along with acoustic soloist, Tom Browning, performing his Help for Heroes 'Mission One' at this Saturday's (August 27) 'Big Chill' acoustic festival at the Fountain Inn, Parkend.
