RYAN 'Dilley' O'Dell has signalled where his Football World Cup loyalties lie – by turning his Berry Hill home into a giant England flag.
He's added an England badge and a gold star too – all in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Painter and decorator Ryan decided to help the charity supporting the unit after close friends, Richard and Heather Hobbs, lost a son, Jaime, who was born prematurely and cared for there. He has already collected nearly £1,000 from well-wishers donating through hes http://www.justgiving.co.uk/england">www.justgiving.co.uk/england house web page.
"I am really happy to give the unit more support. They are brilliant and I can't do enough for them," said Ryan, who also painted his house for the previous Word Cup series four years ago. This time he was prompted to do it after making a promise he'd get out the paint again if more than 50 people thought it was a good idea. A friend set up a Facebook page and collected the backing needed in double quick time.
"I had to do it then," said Ryan, who lives with partner Jodie Sterry and their daughter Isla, 2. The badge in particular was hard work, with a friend cutting the stencil and Jewsons giving all the equipment and materials for free.
"I want to thank everyone who has helped and contributed so far," he said.
