IT would take the whole letters page to list the requirements of N K Wright (Review, April 15) but I’ll quote just a few.
In March 1999 the entire European Commission was to resign following a damning report exposing management fraud and corruption at the highest level.
The EU has not received a clean bill of health from its Court of Auditors for 21 years. Not a twister?
Dictatorial? Juncker made it absolutely clear to Dodgy Dave (as named by the Beast of Bolsover at Prime Minister’s Questions) that open borders were not up for negotiation.
Unelected? We did not elect Juncker – his cohorts in the Commission ‘elected’ him. Even Dodgy Dave did not approve of Juncker.
In December Juncker got a pay rise of £2,720 on top of his £227,000 a year salary.
Some 55,000 EU officials (unelected) got a pay rise of 2.4 per cent back-dated six months.
That will cost 13 million Euros and for the year 2020, 49.7 million Euros.
The EU autocrats, along with their staff and translators, move from Brussels to Strasbourg for a few week at vast expense.
When they return they leave the buildings in Strasbourg empty for nine months of the year.
Did the EU ask you to vote, N K Wright, in order to grow into a federal superstate?
– Malcolm Charnock, Lydney.
