AMYLEIGH Bryce got busy in a classroom kitchen at school to help raise funds to support research in prostate cancer.
The GCSE hospitality student at Wyedean School in Sedbury got baking as part of her fund-raising efforts.
The Year 10 student has also been recognised by the Lions Club of Chepstow for the continued academic improvement she has made this year.
Amyleigh, of Bullo near Newnham, threw herself into fund-raising following the death of her grandfather, Gerry Bryce who had both prostate and bone cancer, and has raised £1,500 with the cake sale and a non-uniform day at school.
The 15-year-old and her sister Bryony, who is 19, braved the zipwire at Tidenham although they are both scared of heights.
Next year Amyleigh is planning a skydive and Bryony will make a bungee jump to raise awareness of bone cancer.
She said: “When my grandad passed I wanted to do something for him. I do hospitality and the teacher said we could make cakes and sell them at lunchtime.”
