I WOULD like to thank the group of schoolchildren who helped my wife, Hilly, after she tripped and injured her ankle on the pedestrian crossing­ outside Tesco in High Street, Lydney on Thursday, September 18.

Special thanks to Looby and Pete of Looby's Curtain Craft who allowed her to wait in the shop while we waited 90 minutes for the NHS responder paramedic to arrive.

To Pete for his first aid expertise and to Looby for extending her opening hours until almost 6pm.
