ORGANISERS of the Soudley Flower and Produce Show saw another successful event despite a showery start.
People packed out the village hall to see the vast range of food, drink and flowers on display, which were later up for grabs in an auction.
The auction raised £340, and the total raised by the event was £840 which will go towards the upkeep of the village hall.
The overall winner of the show, and the Stanley Joiner Rose Bowl, was Ken Butt. Ken, who celebrates his 80th birthday this month, proves that experience does count as this is his third successive win.
Other winners were Emma Hancock, runner-up and the new “domestic goddess”, who won the Bevan trophy for the domestic section. Pete Smith retained the White Horse trophy for wine making, and Leena Stacey won the floral trophy. The children’s cup was won by Florence Perkins and the egg cup for best eggs was won by Tom Wood.
Chairman of the show, Jan Ward said: “A lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all, with teas and cakes being provided by the ladies of the village.”
