AFTER seeing that an outside trader with no business interest in Coleford has donated £1,200 towards the Coleford Music Festival, I felt I had to write in.

For many years of the music festival the traders of Coleford have made money hand over fist with the influx of visitors to the area, not just the couple of days of the festival but in the run up to it, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, local shops have all benefited.

I then discovered not many  of them contribute a donation of any kind towards it.

The traders that do – well done – as for the others, I suggest you shut up shop for the weekend and then see how much difference the festival makes to your takings.

Come on, we all want Coleford Music Festival to go on for years, and you can’t tell me the years when it wasn’t here you didn’t notice difference?

Good luck to the committee and the festival and let’s hope we can have it again next year – with everybody who makes money out of it contributing a little towards it.

– Outraged, Coleford.
