A FLOWER festival at St Mary and St Peter Church in Tidenham from this Friday (June 30) and a summer concert on July 8, will raise funds to improve it for community use.
The flower festival, which runs until Wednesday, July 5, will have displays representing musicals and theatre shows. On Saturday, July 8, a summer gala concert takes place in the church at 7.30pm.
Marjorie Duerden, spokesperson for the friends’ association, said: “We’re inviting visitors to test their knowledge and offering light refreshments during the flower festival, from 2pm to 7pm each day. Come along, view the displays and sit and take in the glorious views over the Severn estuary whilst enjoying welcome tea and cake.
“The concert promises to be an outstanding evening of musical entertainment featuring three superb professional singers: Angharad Morgan, a soprano with Welsh National Opera, David Fortey, tenor and Stephen Hamnett, bass, both from ‘Only Men Aloud.’ They are joined by local musicians Ruth Rusling on trumpet and Marjorie Duerden and Sophie Adams on piano.
