ST Mary’s Church Ross-on-Wye could have been easily mistaken for a florist over the weekend as it hosted its annual flower festival.

A preview night on Thursday proved very popular with the 140 people who attended and enjoyed wine and canapés.

A committee member of the fundraising team said: “It was a perfect start to an extremely successful weekend. Everybody had a wonderful time.

“The theme of the festival was fairytales to fiction which everybody embraced. We had 32 displays of remarkable looking flowers, a raffle and refreshment stalls.

“It’s too soon to say how much we raised but we had a steady stream of visitors. All the money will support the church’s work in the community.”
