THE loss of her husband has spurred a Cinderford woman on to raise £550 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
Nicola Arkell hosted a charity skittles match at the Waterboard Social Club in Valley Road, Cinderford, where there was food and a raffle.
She said: “I lost my late husband, Colin, last August after he suffered a clot on the leg. The paramedics were called and worked on him for at least an hour.
“By way of thanking the ambulance service for their help I wanted to give something back. I knew the Midlands Air Ambulance was celebrating its 25th anniversary and so raised money in aid of them.
“Colin was the secretary of the skittles team so it was fitting to raise money in the way we did. He would have been so proud.
“I can’t thank my friends and family enough for their support as well as the local people and businesses that donated raffle prizes.”
