HIGH octane dancing and singing was on show despite some of the hottest temperatures for years. Caldicot Musical Theatre Society's production of Footloose had audience cheering for more.

A spokesperson for the society said: "Opening night was a sell out with the audience dancing and singing along throughout.

"The cast worked like true professionals through the heat of the evening combined with the heat of the stage to put on an unforgettable performance."

The leads in the story of a town where dancing is banned were Tom Carron as Ren and Tirion Maria Parsons as Ariel.

This was another large-scale production by the society which recently staged an acclaimed young people's version of Les Miserables.

There were also congratulations to Hazel Ruddick who has been involved with the society for 65 years and Pat Welford who has been a member for 35 years.
