I HOPE I speak for all Foresters when I say the most important thing for us is that our Forest is safe from being sold off or destroyed by commercial development in the future.

We have not forgotten our MP's treachery three and a half years ago when he wouldn't back his constituents in our battle to save our forests.

His government appointed experts to find a way forward. Their suggestion of a group of guardians to look after the Forest was welcomed by HOOF (Hands Off Our Forest) and Mr Harper initially.

Now he appears to have gone back on his word and is backing a government plan which allows politicians to do what they want with our forest.

It is our forest and we should be able to guard it ourselves. Will Mr Harper follow the honourable example of his predecessor Paul Marland and support forests or does Mr Harper want to lose the next election?

Given a choice between siding with this government or HOOF I know who I would choose.

Keep your Hands Off Our Forest.
