TOP cat breeder Marlene Howes, of Whitecroft, has won the much admired "moggie" class for household pets at the internationally famous Supreme Cat Show.
Competing against enthusiasts from all parts of Britain, Marlene's star mouser lifted a top award in the show which is the feline equivalent of Crufts.
Now her three year-old tortoiseshell cat Sugar and Spice has a more impressive name: she is officially Supreme Imperial Grand Master Sugar and Spice!
Marlene, well known as a breeder of outstanding Persian cats, had become unhappy at the demands from the showing world. Though she still competes - and frequently wins - the section for household pets holds most attention. So she was delighted with the continued success achieved by Sugar and Spice.
"She's a lovely cat with a superb, natural temperament. She enjoys showing and even licked the judges," said Marlene.
