AFTER less than two years of undergoing a major operation on her spine, Tiana Gwynne has braved one of the longest, tallest and fastest zip slides.

The 12-year-old Yorkley daredevil, went along to Chepstow National Diving and Activity Centre where she undertook a 70 metre zipwire challenge to raise funds for Cinderford Band.

Tiana, who is a member of the band, was joined by her sister Elodie and her friends Charlotte Palmer and Christian Rothery-Jones.

After flying 40mph along a 700 metre long wire that goes over a deep flooded quarry, Tiana raised £200 for the band.

Jo Hume, spokesperson for Cinderford Band, said: "What the group did was incredible – the zip slide is 700 metres long and 70 metres high. Speeds of up to 40mph on the wire rope are reached over an 80 metre deep flooded quarry. The band, many of whom watched the daring feat, are immensely grateful to Tiana for raising this amount of money."

Tiana added: "It was amazing, I have been wanting to do it for a while but had to wait until I had fully recovered from the operation on my spine. I can't wait to do it again!"
