POPULAR retired head of mathematics at Caldicot School, Graham Rosser, has sadly died aged 86 years.
He leaves his wife Wendy (also a teacher, whom he met in the school staffroom), daughters Jane and Louise, and his two grandchildren Jonathan and Lauren.
Graham was born in Penhow and lived locally for many years, in Llanmartin, Undy, Caldicot and Portskewett. He then moved to Somerset for 22 years before moving back to Undy in 2014.
In July 2017, having recently been discharged from hospital, he and Wendy were delighted to be able to attend the Caldicot School fête to mark 60 years since the opening
Graham taught at the school for 30 years, from its opening in 1957 and, fittingly, was at this event, meeting many former pupils and staff.
He is remembered with great affection by hundreds of former pupils, who describe him as a kind, patient and caring gentleman
He enjoyed many sports, including cricket and rugby, and for years he played for Magor RFC.
He was also a gifted artist, although this fact was unknown to many.
A service of thanksgiving for Graham’s life will take place on Thursday, December 20, at 12:30pm at the Langstone Vale Crematorium and all are welcome.
