AFTER reading your letter about the very nasty man who told your young grandson to sit down at the Miners Hall in Cinderford on Saturday, June 13, I must say this is not a usual thing that happens. We go down the Miners Hall every week and there are children on the dance floor and we enjoy watching them as they are so entertaining. We were watching your grandson that evening and he was doing no harm. It was very entertaining watching him chasing the lights. Don't keep away as this person might not be a regular and as you said, the rest of the people were perfect.

We need people to keep coming to the hall as if it's not used, we will loseit. There is always someone who acts like that in most places. They are miseries. Don't let this put you off coming again, you will always be made welcome.

We have been using the hall for years for all sorts of parties and weddings which always means that children are going to be there, and there have never been any problems. The bar staff are great. If your grandson was doing anything wrong they would have come and spoken to you. Also there are committee members in the hall and they would have spoken to you about it.

Don't be put off. They have some good entertainment there on Saturdays and they have free entertainment on Sundays. There is an age limit on Sunday of 14-plus. Over that is downstairs in the lounge. Look forward to seeing you again. – A Saturday night customer (name and address supplied).
