HEADS turned, and curious onlookers took some time to take in the excitement of a live fashion photo-shoot which took place at Lydney Harbour on Good Friday.
Local photographer David Broadbent, and a cast of models, enjoyed the spring sunshine as they created images for a new clothes brand: Rockin' Frocks.
The brand is the brainchild of Lydney-based fashion designer, Anne-Marie Hodder, and the shoot was the second one that she has organised for her collections locally – the last one being held at the Dean Heritage Centre, with the results featuring prominently on the brand's website.
Ann-Marie commented: "We drew a lot of attention when David Broadbent did the shoot for the new collection down at Lydney Docks.
"It attracted a lot of attention on social media websites like twitter and Facebook too – and also with local people and tourists who were there visiting the docks during the shoot. It had a really exciting buzz, with people asking who we were and what we were shooting for."
Rockin' Frocks, which offers a range of women's clothes inspired by retro and vintage designs, are exclusively stocked by Kit & Caboodle in Hill Street, Lydney.
Louisa Dwyer from Kit & Caboodle told the Review: "It was such a great day. The models, Peaches, Laura and Sharifah, were recruited by internet or were friends, and they did really well.
"We are proud to be the exclusive stockists for Anne-Marie's lovely range of clothes. We have about 30 pieces in stock at present, which is a nice selection that shoppers can come and see, and try on – which is not something you can do when shopping on the 'net!"
Louise was particularly pleased to be awarded the exclusive rights to stock the Rockin' Frocks brand, as her shop already stocks two exclusive ranges – of hats and jewellery.
