I HAVE to congratulate the 'badger' who dumped his sheep at the entrance of the Co-operative Store in Cinderford to coincide with its reopening – what timing! Just when we thought they had gone for good they reappear as if on cue to impress any dignitaries present at the reopening – was this a fiendish plot by the Tesco supporters I ask myself!
On a more serious note, the reappearance of the sheep seriously detract from all the good work that is being put in to regenerate the town. Moreover they are a health risk.
Filthy and bedraggled, they leave a mess wherever they go and this is not difficult to take into the store on the sole of a shoe.
It is not only the staff and customers of the Co-operative Food Store who are at risk from these animals; patients and staff at the nearby clinic are also vulnerable. It is time, therefore, that the council got its act together and, with the help of the police, put a stop to sheep grazing in this area of Cinderford once and for all. – D.J.
