THROUGH your pages, I would like to thank the truly
wonderful people who rescued me on Sunday, January 9.
I had gone for a 'walk' (I use an electric wheelchair)
with my dog at Cannop Ponds, and got as far as Three
Brothers, when my wheelchair simply stopped on the hill
and refused to budge. An older couple came over, and
managed to help me to get to a flat spot where I was
safer.
Whilst I was trying to think what on earth I could do,
two delightful young men who had been cycling
appeared. Between them, they pushed the very heavy
wheelchair (quite apart from my not insubstantial weight!)
for well over a mile, and got me safely back into my car.
Their lovely girlfriends pushed the four bikes they
had been riding – and that couldn't have been easy either.
I only know the names of the two lads - Anthony
and James, from Gloucester – but offer heartfelt thanks to
everyone concerned.
– Mary McCreadie (and Henry, the dog), St Briavels.
