A NEW £2.3million extension was officially opened by the site’s oldest resident last Tuesday.

Lucy Reeks, aged 104, cut the ribbon to the development at Hanover Court in Cinderford which is the product of a partnership between Hanover Housing and the Homes and Communities Agency, and features 20 high quality self-contained apartments.

Residents of the development now have access to a range of new facilities, which include a large communal lounge, hair and beauty salon and an expanded restaurant area. The development will also cater to members of the community who can take part in social events and use the new on-site facilities.

Lucy said: “The new wing looks fantastic. I’m looking forward to getting my hair done in the new salon and celebrating my future birthdays in the restaurant.”

Chris Munday, executive director of operations, Hanover Housing Association added: “We believe these improvements will benefit residents now and in the future, making Hanover Court an attractive and affordable place to live.”
