IN 1979 my father Harold Morman or Harry as he was also known, passed away with cancer after a two-year fight finally beat him.
For many years he had driven a tipper lorry from Hoveringham's quarry in the Scowles area near Coleford.
At present I drive lorries for a living following in my father's footsteps, and as many drivers know so many things have changed, some for the better and some for the worse.
The reason I am writing to you is on the off chance that any of your readers remember those days and have any photographs of the trucks or the quarry they would be willing to share, like many children at that time, trips out in the lorry were a big part of our summer holidays.
They were great times and I loved every one.
Now I have two boys of my own and unfortunately they never had the chance to meet their grandfather in person. So I am trying to make a scrapbook up of his life as best I can. I want to show them what a wonderful, kind and caring man he was. There were parts of his life I have no photographs of and hope someone out there has
