A WEEK celebrating the farmhouse breakfast Week was celebrated in English Bicknor on Saturday when 80 people enjoyed a "Full English" at the Village Hall.

The morning started at 8am with 20 beaters and shooters from a local pheasant shoot, followed by 60 people from English Bicknor and Hillersland throughout the rest of the morning.

Fruit juice was followed by a full breakfast, freshly prepared using locally sourced bacon, eggs and sausages, together with mushrooms tomatoes, beans and black pudding.

Toast with homemade marmalade, tea and coffee rounded off a great meal, all for £6!

"The breakfast has become an annual event – this was our third! – and we hope to continue next year, under the guidance of Daphne Gwilliam of Dryslade Farm, English Bicknor," said one of the organisers.
