I AM writing to ask if there are some kind-hearted businesses who would contribute to helping the Miners Hall,?Cinderford, to get a new boiler and have it installed.

We have had a real struggle to keep the hall running. We gave the outside a facelift by painting it. Also we had the main hall decorated and new curtains fitted in the Warren Wing. The downstairs lounge has also been decorated. We have made it customer friendly and it has really made a difference.

To top it all the boiler broke down. It is over 80 years old. We have kept it going over the years but there is no way it can be repaired as it is too old, and you can't get the parts any more.

With it being a big building it gets really cold and if something isn't done soon, it will get very damp which will cause all sorts of problems.

The Miners Hall was paid for by the miners. They had money stopped out of their wages each week to get the hall built.

I can't understand why other places can get help with their halls and community centres to keep them going when no-one helps Cinderford's Miners Hall.

The Miners is the heart of the town. It is the only place that is big enough to hold large functions.

It is always kept clean and is a very friendly place to go to. You are made welcome.

They really do need some money to get this new boiler.

Surely there are some businesses or companies around the area who could help out? You hear about all sorts of help others get but not the Miners Hall. You would think the councils would help out.

When you think how miners went underground, some of them losing their lives. They didn't earn much but contributed to the building of the Miners Hall.?Surely they deserve to keep the hall alive. I'm sure there is help out there to buy a new boiler and but some life back in the hall.
