TEN years ago Tudor Walk,?Berry Hill, residents organised a street party to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee. It was a great success, so much so we would like to do it again to celebrate the Diamond celebrations.

We have a small group of residents who are willing to help organise it, but we need more support. We don't want to pressurise people with the thought of a "committee," it's just a gathering or residents with ideas and enthusiasm who would be willing to meet up a few times before the event to get things in motion.

The proposed date will be on June 4 and, so far, we have secured chairs and tables and entertainment, but more ideas are needed.

It will be an event your extended families will remember for a long time, like my children remember the last one.

Community spirit is the key word, getting to know your neighbours and making new friends.

Please support your street as we also aim to raise money for a local charity chosen by yourselves.

Please help and support us to make it an enjoyable day.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday March 28 at Berry Hill Social Club (7.30pm).
