KEITH Thomas of Coleford is desperately trying to find a mystery firefighter who kept his wife Ursula's heart going and saved her life.
Mr Thomas said that on Friday, June 5 his wife was on her own in the town when she suffered a cardiac arrest.
"Without the swift actions of passers-by she would not have lived," said Mr Thomas.
"I would like to sincerely thank those people who came to her assistance. Especially one particular person who I understand was an off-duty fireman.
"I was told that he worked hard to continue to administer CPR along with a paramedic until the ambulance arrived and they were then able to shock her heart into life again."
Mr Thomas said: "Thanks to their actions my wife is now on her way to recovery.
"Please could I ask the Review to find out who our hero off-duty fireman was as we owe my wife's life to him.
"We really cannot thank him enough. Even if my wife had survived the heart attack, without keeping her heart going she would have been badly brain-damaged."
