THE Westbury Players turn their attention to Tolkien’s classic The Hobbit for their latest show.
As usual, the script is written by one of the Players – in the case of The Hobbit Paul Moscrop.
The show, which runs from Friday to Sunday this week (January 20-22) and Friday and Saturday the following week, will also be a tribute to Mary Martin who died last year and was a key part of the Westbury Players as make-up artist.
The panto – which will be staged at Westbury Parish Hall – is set in the Forest of Dean and the village of ’West Bree’.
Director Clive Tempest said: “Our shows are popular and some are already sold out.”
The panto features Brian Wyman as the title character, Andrew Landon as the narrator, Adrian Crompton as the Gandoaf the Wizard and David D’Ambrogio as Dame Constance Norring.
The producer is Di Landon, choreography is by Nikki Edginton and Stuart Hawke and Simon Roberts are responsible for the sound and lighting.
