A FACTORY is set to be demolished to make way for up to 65 new homes alongside light commercial units.

The Tufthorn Avenue site in Coleford has seen only intermittent use since the closure of the Sonoco Industrial Packaging plant in early 2009, and the bid to develop it goes back several years.

Forest planners granted outline planning permission for the scheme to East Coleford Ltd, which will include 26 affordable homes and 1115m sq of commercial space.
