Developers want to demolish a former garage in the Forest to make way for nine new homes.

Plans have been submitted to Forest of Dean District Council for the site of the vacant Cross Keys Garage on High Street in Bream.

The garage has been derelict for a number of years and now there are plans to build a range of two bedroom and three bedroom homes there, as well as one five bed property.

Consultants working on the scheme say each home would have a white K render finish with feature timber cladding between the ground and first floor windows in a dark grey colour to match the blue and black roof tiles.

Each house has been designed to have parking for two cars with an extra two spaces for visitors located on the site.

The private spaces would be paved with block paving while the surrounding access roads and visitor parking spaces will be paved with Tarmac.

Recycling bins would be located at the rear of each property with side access to each of the homes.

People have until September 9 to comment on the proposals which the council is expected to consider by October 11.
