RECENTLY I had a min­or operation which necessitated a stay overnight in Ward 5a of Gloucester Royal Hospital  and would like to express my appreciation  for the care given  me  and the other patients by the staff on that ward and  on arrival in the surgical admissions suite.

Kindness, consideration and respect for privacy were shown at all times and all this despite the stack of paperwork necessary for each patient. It is no wonder that sometimes records are misplaced! 

 

With so much criticism of nursing staff in other places it is a pleasure to be able to allay the fears of anyone who may be about to have an operation there  by letting them know of my experience of genuine caring at all levels.
