JOHN James and Camilla Carr celebrate completing Wyedean School's annual charity run with some of the pupils who took part.

John and Camilla, who were held as hostages in Chechnya, continue to raise funds to support poor and orphaned Russian children.

Headteacher John Claydon expressed delight that John and Camilla not only attended the end of term assembly but completed the five-mile run themselves.

"We are very pleased to support their work which will be the main beneficiary to the tune of at least £1,000 of this year's run," he added.

"They got on very well with our children and have made three visits to the school in all during the last term."

Camilla explained: "We will be using the money to buy toys and games equipment to bring some fun to these poor children's lives."
