NUMBERS competing at the second annual Iffer Memorial Angling Match at Hartleton Lake, Ross were up by a third on last year.
Entries increased from around 30 to 42 with experienced match anglers fishing alongside candidates who came along for the day.
The first charity match was arranged last April shortly after Iffer's Angling Club founder Chris 'Iffer' Meek died last March.
From teenagers to pensioners all age ranges were represented and the three top spots were taken by Iffers Angling Club members, who received cash prizes.
Bob Williams of Cinderford landed 18lb 4oz to win, Glyn Sherwood of Mitcheldean had a catch of 13lb and new member Ian Sutton brought home 12lb to take third place.
A charity collection was taken in aid of the Macmillan Nurses Intensive Care Unit and the cheque for £100 was presented by Mrs Meek, Chris' widow.
A presentation evening and buffet were held at Ruardean Sports and Social Club.
Match secretary Chris Rawlings said: "The amount of interest in the event has grown significantly over the past year with 42 taking part. Last year there were around 30 entries. A good time was had by all who came along.
"We would like to thank all the guest anglers, everyone who made a donation and all the people who helped to organise the event."
