ONCE again the Severn Bridge tolls are to rise in the New
Year.
I read with disbelief the statement from David Davies
MP, Monmouth. Quote: "I spent months looking at this
and the reality is there is absolutely nothing the UK
Government can do until at least 2017".
What a negative attitude to adopt.
There are numerous options to be looked at. To
start, hold a meeting of local councillors from Chepstow,
Caldicot and the Forest of Dean. This, I know, will bring
new ideas so that he will be able to look at the problem in
a new light.
If a meeting could be arranged I would hope Mark
Harper, MP for the Forest Of Dean, would attend.
I am now retired as a maintenance engineer who
always looked at a job to see "What could be done" There
were always enough people around telling me what could
not be done!
Let as all try to start the New Year 2012 with a
positive attitude to see what can we all do to improve our
life.
– Cllr Gethyn J Davies, Forest of Dean District
Council.
