LYDNEY Traders Association (LTA) is in serious jeopardy again, as in previous years, if we do not get more support from the very people we aim to assist.

LTA is made up of a voluntary committee, all being from Lydney businesses. At present, there are vacancies on the committee and we are looking for anyone who is willing to be part of this, to help improve the standing of Lydney within the area. The only stipulation is that you need to work or have a business in or around Lydney.

It's not all meetings, meetings and more meetings – we do a lot of planning and organising, and work hand in hand with Lydney Town?Council.

We have a long going for us. We have some of the best shops, cafes and attractions in the area, and it really is frustrating when people will not get involved and then criticise that it seems that nothing is happening.

The next meeting planned is October 11 at the Annexe, at 7pm.?This meeting will determine the future of Lydney Traders Association. If there is very little, or no additional support, unfortunately LTA will cease to exist and therefore Lydney businesses may not have any say or possible influence in the future of our town.

This could have a negative effect on events such as Jinglefest, which we would love to make bigger and better. We cannot achieve this without the help of Lydney business owners. We want people to put forward suggestions and ideas. Only by being involved, do we have a voice.?The more of us there are, the louder the voice. We want your voice!

– Lyn Callow, Vice chair, Lydney Traders Association.
