AN internet scam has again been tried in the area, as a local psychic and clairvoyant had her internet accounts hacked into, and her address and contact files stolen.

The thieves then sent emails to all her contacts, telling them that she was in Greece, and had been robbed.

The email, titled 'help please' begins with an explanation: "I am presently in Greece and I'm having some difficulties here because I was robbed on my way to the hotel and the thieves made away with all my cash, cell, passport and other documents."

In continues with an appeal for the loan of $4,100 to "sort out my hotel bills and to get myself back home."

Claiming that the British Embassy were "not responding to the matter effectively" the scammers appealed for immediate help.

This familiar ploy has been used extensively across the internet.
