FEARS that the Foxes Bridge Day Centre in Cinderford could face the axe as a result of government cuts have been voiced by the chair of the users committee.

Mrs V Jenkins says: "As you might be aware Foxes Bridge Day Centre could be a casualty of the recent cuts announced last week by the Treasury and could be forced to shut in the near future.

"All the clients of Foxes Bridge Day Centre are disabled and depend on this service as a lifeline for them and also their carers."

Nicola Davies, media and PR manager at Gloucestershire County Council which funds the centre, said: "No decisions have yet been made about changes to any services in the county. Gloucestershire County Council's Cabinet will meet on November 18 to discuss proposals for budget reductions and service changes following last week's spending review. The papers for this meeting will be available from November 12 online at http://www.gloucestershire">www.gloucestershire. gov.uk and information will be shared with services affected."
